Uber drivers, hospitality workers, designers and Instagram influencers can tap into what is hailed as the first specialist insurance product for the gig economy in Australia.
Hustle by Coverhero – dubbed ‘Hustle Cover’ – will be rolled out this year, designed for Australia’s growing gig economy – and its workers.
Hustle Cover attempts to provide for areas that traditional insurance forms don’t do, Insurance Business reports, adding that would cover about 15 different work categories from Uber to Airbnb hosts, particularly the self-employed.
Launched on December 23, Hustle Cover – underwritten by Agile with insurance issued by Aspen – aims to provide comprehensive protection for gig economy workers, firstly in accident and health cover with more to follow. ‘Gigster’ and ‘Hustle Pro’ are targeted for part-time workers, and full-time, self-employed workers respectively.
Many people have more than one job with different hours, which Hustle Cover intends to provide for.
