Polestar has confirmed three key executive appointments prior to its Australia launch in November.
The appointments come as Polestar continues its rapid global expansion in 2021 from 10 to 18 operational markets, including Australia and four additional markets in the Asia Pacific region.
The Swedish electric performance vehicle brand founded by Volvo Cars and Geely Holding has a management team at Polestar Automotive Australia led by Australian-born managing director Samantha Johnson, previously Volvo Car Australia business control, financial services and digital transformation director.
Jeremy Goh is commercial operations head, Paul Jowett leads business development and Jonathan Williams heads marketing at Polestar Automotive Australia.
“The team will be instrumental in overseeing the launch of Polestar and the all-electric Polestar 2 to Australian audiences from November 2021, while playing a central role in achieving our ambitious growth plans for 2022,” Johnson explains.
Goh joins Polestar from Nissan Motor Australia where he was the lead for residual value management and certified pre-owned vehicles, and Infiniti national sales and dealer network development general manager.
Prior to joining the Nissan Alliance, Goh held various roles within DaimlerChrysler/Fiat Chrysler Automobiles for 13 years.
He will oversee sales, customer care, supply chain logistics, service network operations and technical support at Polestar Automotive Australia.
Jowett has worked in senior management roles across a number of leading technology brands in Australia including Apple, Samsung, and Vodafone for 18 years.
He joins Polestar from Huawei where he was marketing director for the retail team in the consumer electronics division.
Jowett’s role will encompass Polestar’s operator network, retail, charging solutions, financial services, digital commerce and pricing.
Williams spent four years driving growth for PayPal, followed by seven years at Google where he led key product launches for Google Ads, Google Maps and Android Pay.
He joins Polestar from tech start-up KLOOK where he was marketing director for Australia and New Zealand.
