Aftermarket expo offers free business seminars

The Australian Automotive Aftermarket Association is hosting a series of business seminars for its expo attendees.

AutoMate Training will run the three days of seminars from April 4-6 at the 2019 Australian Auto Aftermarket Expo being held at the Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre.

Under the theme of “Understanding the Rapidly Emerging Trends and Developing Industry Leading Standards”, the sessions will offer workshops, advice and knowledge to improve their businesses.

Seminar one on April 4 includes five key business strategies to “accelerate success”.

Also on April 4, the ‘Workshop Whisperer’ Rachael Sheldrick and automotive marketing strategist Dale Brittan from DBC2 will host “How to Tune Your Business for Tomorrow’s Customer” in a bid to prepare attendees for consumer trends in automotive.

Amy Frangos from Ryco will start on April 5 with the simply-named “Innovation”, and industry analysts Ben Selwyn and Steve Nuttall from ACA Research will talk about the 2019 Automotive Workshop Study, revealing some of the home truths and strategies to increase service bay utilisation and improve labour efficiency.

That day, the AAAA’s government relations senior manager Lesley Yates will also talk technical service bulletins and update the industry on the progress being made in Canberra with mandating data-sharing.

Darren Todd from Robert Bosch will follow, practically demonstrating pass-through technology and how workshops can take full advantage.

As the market demands more passenger SUV and recreational 4x4s, Clinton Brett from Diesel Help Australia will also be presenting “Wrong Fuel in a Diesel Vehicle”, which could prove useful even to franchised dealer service managers and staff.

AAAA chief executive Stuart Charity says the free seminars will be “comprehensive”.

“More than 400 exhibitors will be showcasing their latest products, services and technology on the expo floor, but the seminars will provide strategies to help business development,” he explains.
