One of Australia’s biggest electric vehicle shows is on November 9-10.
The Australian Electric Vehicle Association (AEVA) EV Expo 2018 is expected to attract thousands of people to the Brisbane Convention and Entertainment Centre.
The expo starts with a Friday conference at 9am, opened by a Queensland Government representative.
Guest speakers include Greg McGarvie from ACE-EV which is building Australian made electric light commercial vehicles the ACE Cargo and ACE Yewt, expected to be displayed at the show.
Motor Trades Association of Queensland senior business development manager Anthony Bonaccorso will talk about training future tradespeople working on repairing and maintaining EVs.
AEVA national secretary and battery engineer Dr Chris Jones discusses the rapidly changing field of battery technology.
Plus many more speakers feature, talking about everything from EV charging and the world’s first solar powered train to fast (and smart) cities.
Clenergy TeamArrow representatives outline solar car racing, planning to enter the Bridgestone World Solar Challenge across Australia in October 2019.
November 10 features an EV motor show and trade show, with displays including electric bikes, motorcycles, scooters, electric marine drives, conversion suppliers, solar supplies, EV enthusiast owner groups and more.
Major car brands represented include Hyundai, Nissan, Jaguar, Mitsubishi, Renault and BMW.
The expo will probably have the most new EVs on display in Australia, so it’s something of a first, AEVA Queensland chairman Graeme Manietta says.
He says it will be a first-rate show to help people find out what’s available in electric transport.
AEVA’s AGM on November 11 wraps up the EV event.
