EV test drives planned in NSW

NSW transport and roads minister Andrew Constance at the state’s EV strategy launch.

At least 20 battery electric vehicle (BEV) test drive days are planned across New South Wales by the state government’s planning, industry and environment department.

The department has published a new tender application seeking one or more partners to “deliver a series of dynamic, informative and influential BEV test drive days throughout the 2021-2022 financial year”.

The intent is to engage business and private drivers in an experiential educational setting to influence their light vehicle purchasing behaviour, the department adds in providing tender details.

The test drive plan follows the NSW government’s announcement of its EV strategy last month.
