Hyundai’s luxury performance stable Genesis expects three EVs in Australia in the first half of next year.
The announcement came during the official opening of the Genesis Studio in the Emporium Melbourne shopping centre, its second such “Studio” following the 185 Pitt Street showroom in Sydney with another planned in Brisbane in 2022.

While Genesis doesn’t give much information on the three EVs coming to Australia, it is expected the first will be the Electrified G80 revealed in April with an 87.2kWh battery providing up to 427km range.
That’s likely to be followed by the GV60 developed on the same EV platform as the Hyundai Ioniq 5, then the electrified GV70 SUV.
“The new flagship Melbourne Studio showcases the latest Genesis luxury models in an artistic environment, whilst providing an exceptional customer experience, which is at the core of the Genesis Brand’s philosophy,” Genesis Motors Australia chief executive Jun Heo says.
Automotive brands, especially those promoting EVs, are trending more towards establishing showrooms in key Australian shopping centres.
Genesis also has online purchasing and a ‘Genesis to You’ concierge service.
Test drive centres similar to that in Sydney’s Parramata (likely to move to bigger premises at 87 Church Street there) are due to open in Brisbane and on the Gold Coast later this year.
