Honda Australia won’t bring the Urban EV Concept production model into Australia.
The company confirms reports it has “no plans for electric vehicles locally at this stage”, including the Urban and the Sports versions.
The 2019 Honda EV is expected to go to European customers first.
Reports suggest that with Australia’s low EV uptake, Honda Australia isn’t keen to risk introducing its all-electric vehicles here.

The production four-seat hatchback for the Urban EV Concept is expected to have about a 250km range, with more details likely in early 2019.
Honda expects to release a number of EVs during the next five years.
