Lime’s electric scooter trial in Brisbane has been extended until July by the Brisbane City Council.
More than half a million scooter rides have been recorded there following its initial launch in November 2018.
The scooters are redefining Brisbane transport, Lime’s Queensland community affairs manager Nelson Savanh says.
“Since launching three months ago, more than 131,000 unique riders have decided to leave the car at home,” he says.
“Brisbane is one of the fastest uptakes Lime has seen globally, so it is fantastic to hear that we will continue to bring this transport solution to a community who have truly embraced our service.”
Lime launched Australia’s second city-wide trial in Adelaide on February 15 and has already seen more than 2000 rides.
Encouraging Brisbane users to ride responsibly as part of its Respect the Ride campaign, Lime says safety is its utmost priority.
“We are continuously distributing helmets with scooters across the city to ensure all riders are able to ride safely,” Savanh says.
Lime’s commitments to improving city living and urban transportation infrastructure has transformed travel across the globe, expanding to more than 100 markets and recording 26 million rides since its inception in 2017.
