Mandurah Nissan is back open for business on the Pinjarra Road dealer strip, south of Perth.
The newly redeveloped showroom was opened by WA premier Mark McGowan last week and is the first dealership in the state prepared for the arrival of the new Nissan Leaf EV in mid-2019.
Dubbed an “EV ready” dealership with charging stations, a service department ready to handle EV servicing, and parts stockage, Mandurah Nissan has a new customer lounge with free WiFi, a ‘hospitality bar’ and work stations.
Mandurah Nissan will compete against Mandurah Toyota, Holden, Hyundai, Volkswagen and Jeep along the Pinjarra Road strip.
Dealer principal Greg Ross’s and owner Colin Lane’s showroom re-opening prepares the business for the future, where it has been operating since 1994.
“We have exceptional sales staff, highly trained technicians who have a thorough understanding of every Nissan, and state-of-the-art facilities that make the Nissan experience an enjoyable one the minute a customer enters the dealership,” Ross says.
Nissan Australia managing director Stephen Lester was also present for the opening.
“Colin, Greg and the team have been providing buyers in the Mandurah area with outstanding service for a very long time,” Lester says.
“The new facilities are very impressive, and we hope this will make the purchase experience an even better one for Nissan buyers,” he adds.
Nissan Australia tells EVtalk the brand’s Leaf-stocking dealerships nationally will be EV ready in the coming months.
“By the time the New Nissan LEAF arrives we will have 89 dealerships EV ready,” corporate communications manager Tony Mee says.
“This means – in part – that they will have the charging infrastructure in place to meet the ongoing charging needs of local EV owners,” he explains.
“Mandurah Nissan is in this position. Showroom floor staff and service technicians will then be trained ahead of the vehicle’s arrival,” Mee adds.
Nissan says the Mandurah dealership “was committed to the redevelopment of its facilities and took the opportunity to be the first fully accredited EV dealership in Western Australia.”
