Renault Australia has appointed a new sales director, David Rodda.

Rodda has 25 years in the Australian automotive industry, notably at Inchcape Australasia, a distribution, retail and logistics specialist that handles Subaru, Peugeot and Citroen brand.

He spent four years as dealer principal of the Inchcape-run Subaru dealerships in Melbourne, and in the last year as franchise director in various dealerships across Subaru, PSA Group and Trivett Automotive.

He began his career as an apprentice technician, before working his way up to service technician, customer service adviser, business development manager and regional manager.

Rodda will be leading and driving sales performance of the Renault brand in Australia, achieving commercial objectives for the business.

Managing director Anouk Poelmann welcomes Rodda to the Renault Australia and says he is joining at a key time, with a new business focus and product line-up in the coming months, GoAuto.com.au reports.

Rodda says he is looking forward to working with the Renault Australia team at such an exciting time.

Earlier this month, Renault dealers announced a 1% finance offer on model-year 2018 Megane RS 290 hot hatches. Its Zoe electric vehicle was updated earlier this year and Queensland is trialling an autonomous Renault called the “ZOE2.”
